FAQ
Practical details, clearly answered.
Questions about working together often come down to logistics, fit, and what therapy will actually feel like. These answers keep that part straightforward.
People come to therapy for many different reasons, sometimes because they are going through a difficult period, and sometimes because they want support in understanding themselves or their relationships more deeply. You do not have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If something in your life feels stuck, overwhelming, or simply worth exploring, therapy can be a place to think about it with support.
The length of therapy depends on your goals and the pace that feels right for you. Some people come for help with a specific issue and find that a few months of focused work is enough. Others choose to stay longer as they continue exploring patterns, relationships, and personal growth over time. We will check in along the way so that our work stays aligned with what you want.
Many people assume they need to do their own work before starting couples therapy, but in my approach to couples work, individual work is done within the context of the relationship whenever possible. The patterns that create distress do not live in isolation, they show up between you. Doing this work together helps each partner better understand the other’s inner experience as it unfolds. This builds empathy, supports individual growth, and strengthens the relationship rather than treating these as separate processes.
I offer telehealth appointments Monday through Friday between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. If you are unsure whether your schedule fits within those hours, feel free to reach out and we can talk about options.
I offer virtual sessions only. Meeting online allows many people to fit therapy more easily into their lives without the stress of commuting or finding parking. All sessions take place through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.
I am not in-network with insurance plans. If your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, many PPO plans do, you may be able to receive partial reimbursement. I am happy to provide a monthly superbill for this purpose.
